Job description

Materials Buyer required for an established construction company in the Kirklees area. The business is particularly busy, new sites coming on board and currently with a portfolio of current developments requiring an experienced purchasing professional.

You’ll work as part of a tight commercial project team with full responsibility for materials, plant and related across a number of current projects.

Responsibilities

• Understand site and project requirements to be able to source purchase relevant materials and services
• Maintain close contact with site management teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Working with commercial teams to understand and work to project timelines and budgets
• Upkeep of records, ERP systems and relevant reporting
• Site visits on a regional basis as required

Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced and confident buyer with significant experience in the construction sector.

You’ll be able to demonstrate excellent commercial awareness and be a confident negotiator.

Your experience means you’ll have a decent network of suppliers you can turn to, and you’ll have built up enough technical expertise across your career to understand materials and material requirements.
