Job summary

McLaren Racing is seeking a Supplier Logistics & Risk Manager to lead inbound material flow to the McLaren Production Centre and act as the primary liaison between Material Control, Internal Logistics, and the external supply base.

You will provide daily risk assessments for production start-up, manage supplier portfolios, and optimize inventory within budgeted targets. Strong SAP/MRP and Excel skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience utilizing MRP and/or SAP systems is highly desirable.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong data interpretation capabilities.
• Structured work organization and ability to deliver time-sensitive outputs.
• Interpersonal and communication skills with senior stakeholders.

Job description

Reporting to the Senior Material Planner & Controller, this role operates in alignment with manufacturing production hours. The successful candidate will act as the primary liaison between Material Control, Internal Logistics, and the external supply base. You will provide critical feedback on items impacting the production line, communicate a clear daily risk assessment for production start-up, and manage a portfolio of suppliers. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining delivery schedules for series suppliers to support current programs, ensuring on-time, in-full (OTIF) deliveries, maintaining production line availability, and optimizing inventory within budgeted targets. This position is pivotal to strengthening internal and external relationships to support evolving logistics challenges.

What You'll Do

Supplier Logistics & Risk Management

Operational Accountability: Own all aspects of supplier logistics to ensure an efficient, continuous inbound material flow to the McLaren Production Centre. Serve as the out-of-hours point of contact for both internal and external operational escalation and opportunities.

Risk Mitigation: Establish and manage proactive supplier processes to identify, communicate, and mitigate supply chain risks early.

Stakeholder Representation: Represent supply chain risks and strategic opportunities confidently for internal management reviews.

Relationship Management: Foster collaborative, mutually beneficial working relationships with internal and external stake holders

Inventory & Systems Optimization

MRP/SAP Management: Utilize MRP (SAP) to balance supply and demand, developing a delivery plan that satisfies production, development, and alternative requirements

Inventory Control: Maintain inventory within approved limits to minimize obsolescence and holding costs in line with company targets.

Data Integrity: Own and manage MRP parameter data to ensure inventory accuracy and operational stability.

Engineering Change Support: Partner with Engineering to seamlessly implement new parts, ensuring accurate MRP demand and coordinating stock run-out/ramp-up schedules to minimize financial impact from obsolescence.

Performance & Continuous Improvement KPI Management: Monitor and manage the assigned supply base against defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive business improvement.

Process Enhancement: Champion a continuous improvement approach for internal logistics processes and supplier quality.

Performance Metrics: Evaluate schedules against key performance indicators measuring all variables affecting materials and production planning.

Proven track record of managing and prioritizing tasks efficiently within a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment. Experience utilizing MRP and/or SAP systems is highly desirable. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong data interpretation capabilities. Demonstrated capability in structured work organization and executing time-sensitive deliverables. Interpersonal & Communication Skills Highly developed relationship-building and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels, both internally and externally.
