Job summary

Manpower Group (UK) is recruiting a Material Planner in Cheltenham for a 12-month contract. The role pays £23.94 per hour inside IR35 (PAYE) and focuses on production scheduling and MRP-driven control in an aerospace environment.

You will generate daily and weekly schedules, manage shortages, release job cards, and collaborate with the operations team to ensure resources and plans stay aligned under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced production environment is beneficial; knowledge of MRP systems preferred.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to perform under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Generate daily and weekly production schedules.
• Manage shortages to maximize on-time starts/finishes.
• Release job cards in line with MRP and respond to exception messages.
• Collaborate with operations to provide output commitments.
• Define daily/weekly production goals to track plan adherence.
• Ensure resources are allocated and aligned to achieve the plan.
• Be a good team player and able to work under tight schedules.
• Monitor the integrity of job card data for accurate MRP signals.

About our Client:

Our client is a leading aerospace engineering company specializing in jet engines, avionics, and integrated systems for both military and commercial aircraft. They operate major UK facilities, including maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sites.

Essential Responsibilities

• Generate daily and weekly production schedule
• Manage shortages to maximize clear to build and on time starts/finishes
• Release job cards in line with MRP and action exception messages
• Collaborate with ops team to provide output commits
• Define daily/weekly production goals to track adherence to the plan
• Collaborate with ops team to ensure resources are appropriately allocated and aligned to achieve the plan
• The applicant must be a good team player flexible and be able to work to tight schedules.
• Monitor the integrity of job card data to ensure MRP signals are correct

Qualifications/Requirements

• The successful candidate will be a motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• They can work in a fast
• paced environment and having experience of, or exposure to, a similar production environment would be beneficial, as would knowledge of MRP systems
• Good problem-solving skills & being able to perform effectively in pressurized situations
• Able to effectively influence within a matrix organization
• Competence in MS Excel is required
