Overview
  • Target Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Location: Swindon
  • Contract Length: 3 months, with possible extension and potential for full-time hire
  • Working Hours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern (07:00-19:00 x 2 days and 19:00-07:00 x 2 days)
  • Hourly Rate: £13.90/hr (~£30,000/year)
About the Role

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for:

  • Supplying manufacturing and packaging lines with required materials according to parts lists and production schedules.
  • Removing excess packaging materials and transferring them to designated storage or disposal areas.
  • Performing pick-up, transfer, and shrink-wrapping of completed pallets of finished product.
  • Inspecting finished pallets for compliance with Packaging Work Orders and SOPs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance & Documentation: Follow cGMP, GDP, MHRA, and internal SOPs at all times. Accurately complete documentation for all material movements and transactions. Maintain clean, organised, and compliant workspaces to support audit readiness.
  • Safety & Operational Excellence: Adhere to manual handling and safety guidelines. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency and safety. Promptly report any deviations, hazards, or non-conformances.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams to ensure smooth material flow. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to resolve issues and optimise processes.
Minimum Requirements
  • Previous experience in a GMP-regulated warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • High attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (JDE preferred), MS Office, and inventory control processes.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
