Job description

Reporting to the Senior Material Planner & Control, this supplier‑facing role is key to ensuring materials arrive from McLaren’s supply base on time and in full, with supporting documentation. The role is responsible for creating and maintaining achievable delivery schedules that support the requirements of our series and development programs while keeping inventory levels within budgeted targets. It will also play a major part in developing our supplier relationships and capability to support the ever‑increasing logistics challenge.

What You’ll Do
  • Accountable for all aspects of supplier logistics quality, ensuring an efficient and effective inbound flow of material to McLaren Production Centre.
  • Manage appropriate processes with suppliers for early identification, communication and mitigation of supply risk.
  • Represent supply chain risks and opportunities at internal management reviews.
  • Use MRP (SAP) to balance demand and supply, creating a delivery plan that satisfies the combined requirements of production, development and other sources, keeping inventory within approved limits.
  • Reduce obsolescence and inventory holding to company targets.
  • Serve as the point of contact for assigned suppliers and related material availability concerns within the organisation.
  • Work with supplier contacts to ensure an effective, mutually beneficial working relationship.
  • Onboard suppliers, including supply chain loop and packaging requirement calculations.
  • Adopt a continuous‑improvement approach for internal processes and supplier logistics quality.
  • Manage the supply base against defined KPIs to support business improvement.
  • Support Engineering in the effective implementation of new parts, ensuring MRP demand is accurate and coordinating the appropriate run‑out and ramp‑up of stock to minimise financial impact due to part obsolescence.
  • Conduct scenario modelling to assess the impact of changes to demand and supply and work with stakeholders to agree and implement an optimal plan.
  • Own and manage MRP parameter data to deliver the correct inventory levels and stability to McLaren’s Operations.
  • Manage schedules against KPIs measuring all factors that affect materials and production planning.
