Job summary

A leading automotive service provider in Stockport is seeking a Master Vehicle Technician. Qualifications

  • Recognised NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is essential.
  • Desirable: Manufacturer Master Technician status.
  • Experience with the MG brand is advantageous but full training will be provided.
  • Must possess a full and valid UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex diagnostics and repairs on MG vehicles, including EV and Hybrid models.
  • Mentor and assist other technicians for efficient fault diagnosis.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Complete service and repair paperwork accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with industry guidelines.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.

Role at a Glance

Master Vehicle Technician – Stockport

OTE £50,000 Uncapped. Additional for MOT Tester, overtime paid extra. Also includes staff car scheme, contributory pension/life assurance scheme, training and ongoing development with the Academy, career progression opportunities, and other excellent benefits/incentives.

Master Technician – 45 hour a week role, Monday to Friday only, with flexible working hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of MG vehicles, including EV and Hybrid models.
  • Mentor and provide technical assistance to other technicians to ensure efficient and accurate fault diagnosis.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, including suspension, steering, brakes and air conditioning.
  • Complete all service and repair paperwork accurately and to manufacturer standards.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with industry guidelines.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, occasionally liaising with customers to offer expert technical knowledge.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
What We're Looking For
  • Qualifications: A recognised NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is essential. A manufacturer Master Technician status is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Experience with the MG brand is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • Skills: Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills are a must. A solid understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems, including EV and Hybrid technology, is a key requirement. Must be meticulous, flexible and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Licence: A full and valid UK Driving Licence is required.
