The Mechanical and Aerospace Systems Group is looking for an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support in all areas of Group Operations, specifically financial, project and general administrative support. The role holder will be based in the Mechanical and Aerospace Systems Research Group, supporting an intra-disciplinary team of researchers, engineers, technicians, support staff and academics who work together to deliver research from fundamental to high level technology readiness levels.
You should have GCSEs in Maths and English at Grades A-C/9-4 or a Vocational qualification (NVQ Level 2 in Administration) or equivalent and experience of an office/administrative environment, or previous work experience in a relevant role.

The ideal candidate will also have experience in monitoring financial budgets, minute taking, and research project administration.
Hours of work are part time (21.75 hours per week). The role is a fixed term contract until 31 August 2026. Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
