Job summary

A global facility management company is seeking a Marquee and Porterage Operative in Portsmouth. You'll erect and dismantle structures for events, assist with porterage duties, and support Armed Forces personnel. Training is provided for forklift operation and other relevant skills. Qualifications

  • Forklift experience is preferred, but training will be given.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willing to start early/finish late and work off site.
  • Willing to undergo relevant training.
  • Willing to use tools.

Responsibilities

  • Erecting and dismantling marquess for up to 500 people.
  • Erect and dismantle tower platforms.
  • Porterage duties including assisting with office moves.
  • Occasionally work in the waste area moving pallets using a Forklift Truck.
  • Scan ground areas for hazards during the marquee setup.

  • 30 hours per week

  • 4 days out of 7 per week

  • £12.71 rising to £14.21 after training including PASMA, Marquee Erection Training, and Cat Scanning

About the role:

This is a fabulous opportunity to join a global organisation with over 500,000 colleagues worldwide as a Marquee and Porterage Operative and provide support to Armed Forces personnel at HM Naval Base Portsmouth, PO1 4QT. Play your part in making rewarding occasions special for our Armed Forces Personnel. There will be occasional travel to other locations to provide event support.

After training including PASMA, MUTA, and Cat Scanning the rate will rise to £14.21 Per Hour

What you'll do:
  • Erecting and dismantling marquess for up to 500 people
  • Erect and dismantle tower platforms.
  • Porterage duties including assisting with office moves, moving filing cabinets, lockers etc
  • Occasionally working in the waste area moving pallets using a Forklift Truck
  • Scan Ground areas for Hazards which could be caused by during the Marquee and seating area siting
What we're looking for:
  • Forklift experience is preferred, but training will be given if you do not hold certifications. However, please be aware that you will be required to undergo training if you do not have a relevant forklift qualification.

  • Willing to under go relevant training
  • Willing to use tools
