Description & Requirements

Bloomberg News is one of the biggest financial and business news organizations in the world. We lead the way in breaking news and providing analysis on financial markets, from daily coverage through to in-depth features. We are known for our quality, accuracy and ability to deliver news investors can use. It’s what keeps us inventing and re‑inventing, all the time.

We are seeking an authoritative editor to handle markets analysis pieces under pressure and at pace. You'll be comfortable working across asset classes and have the agility to adapt to changing market conditions. You'll be able to unpack and distill complex ideas into a conversational style and have a sophisticated understanding of what is most useful for our terminal clients.

You will work with our flagship Markets Live blog, our suite of macro columns and on future squawk‑to‑text innovations.

We'll trust you to:
  • Shape analysis from our macro strategists on diverse topics spanning global equities, fixed‑income, credit, currencies and commodities
  • Debate markets ideas with the broader team of strategists and editors
  • Understand the distinction between retaining the author's voice versus indulging poor writing
You’ll need to have:
  • A minimum of five years' editorial experience
  • A flair for writing, editing and crafting headlines
  • The capacity to switch seamlessly between story formats and writing styles
  • A demonstrated ability to translate complicated ideas into compelling narratives
  • The markets knowledge to prioritise and pivot to what matters most urgently for traders
  • A collaborative approach and a proven track record of communicating well across teams and regions
