Job summary

Talent is seeking a Category Manager in Marketing Procurement, based in Nottingham, to own category strategy and initiatives. You will partner with stakeholders and agencies across a large retail group to drive value, innovation and compliance, reporting to the Category Director.

You will be one of three Category Managers, supported by Procurement Associates, and work to balance value, service and risk while delivering on time within governance.

Qualifications

• Experience building category strategies for marketing categories.
• Strong commercial judgement balancing value and service.
• Excellent negotiation skills and contract negotiation experience.
• Proven ability to lead projects and deliver on time and in full.
• Comfort working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead category strategy and initiatives in Marketing Procurement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and agencies across the business.
• Drive procurement-led change and sourcing across brands (pharmacy, optical, beauty).
• Project-manage workstreams to land on time within governance.
• Negotiate suppliers and contracts, track savings and KPIs.
• Monitor supplier risk and ensure compliance across the category.
