Job description

We are looking for a Marketing Manager to join either our Southampton or Reading office. Reporting to the Head of Business Development and Marketing, your role will be to manage our internal and external communications and marketing. The role will ideally suit a Marketing professional with significant experience leading and managing teams within a professional services business.

Office attendance is required two days a week, subject to business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the implementation of the firm's marketing and communications strategy using the full range of relevant channels, to include PR, print, advertising, sponsorship, web, social media and digital communications. Leading the marketing team to deliver this, working closely with the Head of Business Development and Marketing, Business Development Managers and other stakeholders across the business.
  • Guardian of the firm's brand and visual identity, ensuring that it is applied consistently and communicates the firm's personality and attributes across all relevant media.
  • Devising and developing integrated marketing campaigns in support of firm, business group, sector, and regional initiatives, creating content and working with the marketing team, Business Development Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure delivery.
  • Development and delivery of a range of publications to showcase the firm's capabilities in an effective and impactful way ensuring that content is of the highest quality and is re-used effectively across all relevant media.
  • Managing messaging to portray the firm positively to the external audience, using owned media (e.g. website, social media, email marketing), paid media (e.g. advertising), earned media (e.g. the regional, national and trade media), and shared media (e.g. sponsorships, legal directories, and review sites).
  • Delivering a programme of external communications designed to increase our brand awareness in our target markets, with support from our PR agency and Digital Marketing Executive.
  • Ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the firm's website, including delivery of activity to improve lead generation and conversion, maintaining SEO, and ensuring compliance with relevant best practice, with support from our Digital Marketing Executive and digital agency.
  • Overseeing the firm's development and delivery of the firm's email marketing and digital marketing materials, ensuring compliance with relevant best practice, with support from our CRM lead and design agency.
  • Managing the delivery of the firm's internal communications programme, with support from our Internal Communications Executive and intranet supplier.
  • Managing relationships with third party suppliers and agencies to ensure we maximise returns from these partnerships, including PR, digital, and design agencies, and systems suppliers for intranet, digital marketing brochureware platform, review platform, CRM/marketing database, email marketing platform.
  • Managing the development and use of the firm's CRM system to embed best practice, identify business development opportunities, support digital marketing and for reporting, with support from our CRM Lead.
  • Managing and developing the marketing team to ensure a consistent and high-quality output.
Skills / Experience Required
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills to relay internal and external messages in a clear and memorable way.
  • Experience developing and delivering high quality, cross-channel marketing campaigns within a professional services business.
  • Strong project management skills with an ability to manage high workloads and prioritise multiple activities.
  • Significant line management experience accompanied by an aptitude for leading teams and getting the best out of people.
  • Experience of working with and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing external agencies to ensure return on investment.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic about making things happen.
  • Excellent standard of English and Maths.
  • 7+ years relevant work experience.
  • CIM or other relevant professional qualification desirable.
