Job description

Simply Lunch is a rapidly growing, private family-owned food-to-go manufacturer based in London. Our commitment to delicious food and our local communities has been central to our South London business since it was founded in 1979. Today, we are as committed as ever to creating high-quality hand-crafted products, made to improve lives and protect our beautiful planet. All our food is handmade at our facility in South London with the same care, love and admiration that we’ve shown since day one. Our talented team fuels the success at Simply Lunch, combining expertise and passion to craft products that improve lives through delicious food.

The Role

We’re looking for a Marketing Manager to join Simply Lunch, a fast-paced and growing food-to-go business working across a wide range of sectors and customers. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership, bring ideas to life and play a key role in how our brands show up in the market.

You’ll lead marketing activity across campaigns, product launches, customer support, internal communications and brand development. Working closely with Commercial, NPD, the People Team and external partners, you’ll help us deliver clear, engaging and commercially focused marketing that supports our growth ambitions.

If you’re commercially minded, organised, creative and confident managing multiple projects, this role offers the chance to make a real impact in a business where marketing is central to our customer relationships, brand reputation and future growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and delivery of the overall marketing strategy, annual marketing plans and marketing calendar.
  • Use market trends, customer insight and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Monitor marketing performance, return on investment and opportunities to improve efficiency, including the use of AI and emerging technologies.
Brand, Campaigns & Communications
  • Own and protect the integrity of all company brands, ensuring consistent messaging and execution across all channels.
  • Lead integrated campaigns, product launches and marketing communications from planning through to delivery.
  • Manage key digital channels, including the company website, SEO, paid search, organic search and social media activity.
  • Oversee brand development, packaging, point of sale, marketing collateral, events, PR, awards activity and incoming enquiries.
Commercial Support
  • Develop targeted marketing plans for key sectors, customer groups and business development opportunities.
  • Support customer tenders and presentations with engaging content and insights.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, customers, suppliers, agencies and external partners.
Leadership & Workflow Management
  • Manage, coach and develop the marketing team.
  • Coordinate workload, resources and priorities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.
  • Drive continuous improvement in marketing processes, performance and ways of working.
Internal Communications & Employer Brand
  • Work with the People Team to develop engaging internal communications and strengthen the internal brand.
  • Create and manage content for company updates and business milestones.
  • Ensure a consistent brand experience across internal and external communications.
Artwork, Packaging & Governance
  • Oversee artwork approval across all brands, customer projects and packaging activity.
  • Ensure marketing materials, packaging and communications are accurate, compliant and on-brand.
  • Manage approval workflows and act as approver for marketing assets where required.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven marketing management experience within a B2B environment.
  • Experience leading and developing a team.
  • Strong strategic planning and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Commercial awareness and experience supporting business growth activities.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience briefing and managing creative content.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ideally Food to Go, FMCG or food manufacturing experience.
Key Skills:
  • Commercially minded and results-driven.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent relationship builder and communicator.
  • Proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused.
  • Passionate about brand building, culture and business growth.

This is a role where you can influence the direction of marketing, work closely with senior stakeholders and see the impact of your work across the business.

Diversity and Inclusion

Like many other organisations, we are considering with renewed focus what Diversity means to us. What may have been acceptable a short time ago is not sufficient for the future, so we are dedicating a lot of time and resources to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and respected, especially those who are often excluded or underrepresented.

If you feel that you do not see yourself represented either in the cultural sector or in this professional area because of any part of your identity that makes you special, we would especially like to hear from you.
