About the role

Our Retirement & Advice Marketing function is transforming, resulting in an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Manager to join our team. You will report into and support the Senior Marketing Lead in setting retirement advice and strategy in a leading marketing team within financial services. You will deputise and support the development of a retirement and advice 'super squad'. This squad designs and delivers campaigns for the pre, at, in retirement journey, as well as the phasing and passing down of wealth, aligned with advice as a service and the future direction of HL's augmented advice offering.

What you'll be doing
  • Assist the Senior Marketing Lead in:
    • Leading the end-to-end delivery of marketing campaigns for the saving for, at and in, retirement journeys, combining the advisory service into this offering, reporting and interpreting results.
    • Delivering the broader strategy and deputising the management of the team and on touchpoints with senior stakeholders where appropriate.
    • Aligning multiple departments, external advisors, and senior stakeholders.
    • Profiling of HL's evolving advice offering & how these tie into retirement.
  • Accountable for the delivery of the strategy set by the Senior Marketing Lead which supports growth and retention.
  • Accountable for each stage of the marketing program development process and the final outcome - bringing retirement & advice together in a seamless journey and marketing narrative for clients, ensuing colleague (squad) delivery against deadlines, consideration for client outcomes and ensure business expectations are met.
  • Analysis of client insight and behaviour, identifying current and future client needs to provide marketing direction, leading to measurable business impact.
  • Oversight and management of all squad activity and backlogs over the short and longer term, working with the Senior Marketing Lead and strategy functions to ensure the squad's marketing calendar is appropriate and delivers results against business targets.
  • Lead by example and through inclusion, to empower colleagues in immediate squad and wider department to be an effective and motivated unit, where colleagues feel valued, and ideas and innovation can thrive. This includes development and facilitation of group planning sessions, refinements, marketing reviews and retrospective learning sessions.
About you
  • Have a detailed understanding of HL's retirement & advice offering and how this can be used to shape integrated marketing plans & business initiatives.
  • Experience of working within and having a thorough understanding of financial service environments - specifically within Financial Advice.
  • Ability to both create and lead the execution of content and muti-channel marketing strategies, and adjust according to the market and economic conditions to ensure good client outcomes and business results.
  • Technical grasp of the pensions, retirement and advice landscape and deep regulatory knowledge.
  • Detailed knowledge of compliance rules surrounding financial promotions, and how to manage risk in financial services marketing.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to influence and reach out to senior management.
  • Accomplished in forging effective relationships at all levels, skilled at influencing, negotiating and managing challenging conversations with ease.
  • Able to work in a team or alone and effectively collaborate to achieve common goals plus the ability to self-manage competing workloads & effectively prioritise.

This will be a one-stage interview process, including a task.

Working Schedule

Based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. Permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Offering a hybrid flexible working pattern.
