Job description
Position Summary

This is a 12 month contract within the EO Marketing department which acts as a centre of excellence, and is tasked with supporting all European local subsidiaries through a wide range of pan-European marketing investments. These include shared services, innovation projects, investment pilots, insights and analytics, and pan-European governance.

The EO Marketing Planning Team sits within the EO Marketing organisation, and its purpose is to provide a range of support functions to the EO teams, across E-Store, Digital Marketing, Retail, Brand, PR, and Consumer Market Intelligence. This includes, the management of the European marketing investment portfolio, carrying out investment analysis & reporting, facilitating project ROI & KPI reviews, setting departmental budgets, and supporting with the end-to-end investment & finance process.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Ensure best-in-class operational excellence across the investment process and financial risk management. Provide smooth operation of the investment process and mitigate financial/commercial risks.
Investment Process Management
  • End-to-end management of the marketing investment process. Work closely with the European marketing teams to support the delivery of their projects, including continued communication throughout the process and liaising with stakeholders across the business: project owners, procurement, finance & legal teams.
  • Own investment process improvements. Set documentation requirements, review backup for each investment, and work with Legal, Procurement to optimise the process. Provide training to the department on process, financial compliance, documentation requirements, and KPI requirements.
  • Assist the Marketing Commercial Finance Manager in optimising investments: ensure that critical metrics are set following the SMART principle, review if KPIs fit the framework, ensure that the business case fits the EO marketing strategy framework, and facilitate post-project reviews to assess final outcomes.
  • Manage the Marketing Investment Dashboard. Generate bi-weekly report, download and cleanse data from Finance (NERP), Procurement (BQMS), and Legal (SELMS) systems, detail status of each investment, and analyse data to flag bottlenecks and risks.
  • Vendor roster management. Handle the marketing vendor pool across each category: Brand, PR, Events, Digital Operations & Analytics and Consumer Market Intelligence.
Financial Management
  • Budget Control: Manage individual team budgets, track remaining funds, spend to date, and forecasted expenditure. Mitigate budget expenditure risk and minimise variance between forecasted and actual marketing costs.
  • Open accrual management: Work closely with vendors, project owners and Accounts Payable to ensure aged accruals (POs) are closed off from previous years.
  • Ad-hoc projects: e.g., savings analysis through selecting optimal FX rate and supporting the team on inter-company transfers (NTS).

  • All investments have a clear objective and set ROI/KPI targets.
  • Projects commence in a timely manner, without delays to the originally set date.
  • Marketing budget is fully spent by 31st December each calendar year; no budget is lost/not utilised.
  • All EO MKTG employees are protected in case of an internal process audit.
