Closing date: 12th November 2026
The Role
We are looking for an experienced hand-on Marketing & Communications Lead to deliver high-profile client programmes spanning digital construction, infrastructure and international markets.

You will take ownership of marketing and communications across one or more client-funded programmes, working directly with clients, governments, international partners and industry to turn complex programme objectives into compelling campaigns and communications.

The role will be primarily embedded within the Digital Construction International Programme (DCIP), where you will lead marketing and communications activity across multiple international markets, working closely with the programme team, client and international partners.

DCIP is a flagship UK government trade programme that brings together governments, infrastructure owners and industry partners worldwide to advance digital construction. By promoting the adoption of international best practice in information management and BIM, the programme supports improved infrastructure outcomes, knowledge exchange and international collaboration.

We are looking for someone who can operate strategically and manage complex stakeholders, whilst also being comfortable with busy hands‑on execution. This role will involve a mix of communications and marketing activity and will require full channel and GTM mix including overall messaging and positioning, digital, events, campaign design, and ABM.

Alongside this programme, you will work across other client-funded programmes within Connected Places Catapult's portfolio, giving you exposure to a range of innovation projects spanning transport, infrastructure and the built environment.

This is a client-facing role. You will build trusted relationships with programme and client stakeholders, provide marketing and communications advice, and personally develop campaigns, messaging and content, taking responsibility for delivery from brief through to execution and evaluation.

As part of Connected Places Catapult's Marketing & Communications team, you will draw on expertise across digital, PR, public affairs, design, content and events to deliver integrated activity for your programmes.

Key Responsibilities
Client and programme leadership
  • Act as the marketing and communications lead and primary MarComms contact for assigned client programme(s).
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, programme leads and delivery partners, developing a clear understanding of their objectives, audiences and priorities.
  • Translate client and programme objectives into clear marketing and communication strategies, plans and deliverables.
  • Provide proactive marketing and communications advice, challenging and shaping briefs where appropriate rather than simply responding to requests.
  • Own MarComms delivery, managing timelines, dependencies, approvals, risks and client expectations.
  • Work towards a series of KPIs to ensure growth of the programmes to exceed client expectations.
  • Monitor and report on performance, demonstrating the contribution of marketing and communications to programme outcomes.
International marketing & communications
  • Lead marketing and communications activity across priority international markets.
  • Develop communications appropriate for different markets, stakeholder groups and cultural contexts.
  • Support engagement with international governments, embassies, public bodies, infrastructure organisations and industry partners.
  • Translate digital construction and infrastructure topics into compelling, accessible communications.
  • Plan and deliver communications around international delegations, workshops, events and market engagement activity.
  • Develop content that demonstrate programme impact and showcase UK capability in digital construction.
  • Identify opportunities for thought leadership, case studies, PR and stakeholder communications in collaboration with the wider MarComms team.
Integrated campaign delivery
  • Deliver integrated marketing and communications campaigns from planning through to launch, optimisation and evaluation.
  • Translate complex programme activity and technical subject matter into clear, compelling content and campaigns tailored to different audiences and markets.
  • Create compelling campaign messaging and content for different audiences and channels.
  • Deliver activity across web, email, social media, events, PR, thought leadership, case studies, reports and video.
  • Develop creative briefs and work with subject‑matter experts and MarComms specialists to bring campaigns to life.
  • Manage campaign schedules, deliverables and approvals, ensuring high‑quality, on‑time delivery.
  • Use audience insight, campaign data and performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness, optimise activity and demonstrate impact.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Strong experience developing and delivering integrated, multi‑channel campaigns, including hands‑on campaign and content delivery.
  • Experience working with government and public‑sector stakeholders, including senior decision‑makers and external partners.
  • Experience managing complex projects or client commissions, balancing multiple stakeholders, priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience working with international audiences and stakeholders, or demonstrable ability to adapt communications for different markets and cultural contexts.
  • Excellent written communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex and technical subjects into clear, engaging content.
  • Strong commercial and project awareness, with an understanding of client requirements, scope and delivery expectations.
Desirable
  • Experience within construction, infrastructure, engineering, digital technology or a related sector.
  • Knowledge or experience of digital construction, BIM or information management.
