Marketing & Business Development Manager (9-Month FTC)

Contract: Fixed-Term

A leading European intellectual property firm is seeking a Marketing & Business Development Manager to cover shared parental leave for 9 months (with potential extension). Starting ideally in November or December 2025, this is a high-impact role shaping the firm's ambitious growth strategy.

The successful candidate will work across practice groups-Tech, Engineering, Life Sciences & Chemistry, and Trade Marks-developing and implementing business development plans that drive client engagement and market positioning. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Business Development, this role manages a talented team and collaborates with colleagues in London, San Francisco, and The Netherlands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive global BD strategy and provide expert guidance to fee earners.
  • Lead initiatives to strengthen client relationships and win new business.
  • Oversee marketing campaigns, content strategy, events, and profile-raising activities.
  • Manage pitch processes and ensure robust pipeline management.
  • Inspire and lead a team of executives, ensuring best-in-class delivery.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven BD and marketing experience in legal, IP, or professional services.
  • Strong track record in strategy execution and client development.
  • Skilled in the full marketing mix, analytics, and pipeline management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills; previous team management preferred.
  • Creative, commercially savvy, and a confident communicator.
