The Role

The Marketing and Brand Manager will play a key role in shaping and delivering the marketing strategy for Matthew Algie and its portfolio of coffee brands. This role is responsible for driving brand growth, visibility, and consistency across all channels, ensuring that our marketing activity supports commercial objectives and strengthens our market position. Working closely with sales, product, and customer teams, the Marketing and Brand Manager will plan and execute campaigns, manage brand communications, oversee key partnerships and events, and ensure that all activity reflects our brand values and sustainability commitments. The role combines strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery to enhance brand equity and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Head of Marketing, Sales & Marketing Director, and wider sales and marketing teams to develop and deliver an annual marketing plan that drives growth and value across our coffee, equipment, and service portfolio.
  • Develop and implement compelling brand, marketing, and communications strategies that strengthen our market position and support commercial objectives.
  • Conduct ongoing market and customer insight analysis — identifying trends, competitor activity, and opportunities to inform brand strategy and customer engagement activity.
  • Plan, manage, and evaluate integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, PR, and event channels — ensuring clear objectives, strong creative execution, and measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with sales, design, and marketing colleagues to ensure consistent brand representation and alignment across all touchpoints.
  • Shape and protect the positioning and personality of our brands, ensuring they authentically reflect our values and purpose.
  • Lead the delivery of the annual events calendar across all brands — ensuring every event is professionally executed, on‑brand, and delivers a memorable experience for customers and partners.
  • Work with Marketing Assistant to oversee the development and continuous improvement of all brand and sales materials, ensuring they remain up‑to‑date, impactful, and fit for purpose.
  • Manage external suppliers and agencies to deliver innovation, creativity, and strong value for investment.
  • Ensure customers have seamless access to high‑quality, up‑to‑date brand assets and resources (e.g. POS, menu boards, recipes, insights).
  • Equip sales teams with effective, channel‑relevant brand tools and materials — such as sales kits, brochures, and campaign assets — to support customer conversations.
  • Provide tailored marketing support and insights for key accounts and major prospect opportunities.
  • Support Product Marketing and NPD initiatives, ensuring new launches are strategically positioned, well‑communicated, and commercially successful.
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing activity, using data and feedback to drive continuous improvement and ROI.
  • Champion a culture of creativity, collaboration, and brand excellence across the business.
Experience
  • To be considered for this position, you’ll need to have proven experience in marketing and brand management, ideally in hospitality, coffee, or FMCG, and you'll know how to make brands shine.
  • You’re confident running campaigns across multiple channels — digital, events, PR, and content — and know how to measure what works.
  • You’ve led product launches, customer‑focused initiatives, or brand campaigns that made a real difference.
  • You understand customers, competitors, and market trends, and use insights to make smart, creative marketing decisions.
  • Budget management, supplier relationships, and ROI tracking are all second nature to you.
Skills / Knowledge
  • Creative spark: You love coming up with new, fresh ideas that help a brand stand out in a busy market.
  • Clear communicator: You can share your vision in a way that gets everyone excited — from colleagues to senior stakeholders.
  • Organised multi‑tasker: Campaigns, events, and projects are your playground — you keep them all on track.
  • Data‑smart: You use insights and analytics to make decisions, improve campaigns, and show results.
  • Digital & content savvy: You know how to tell a brand story across social media, digital, and print in a way that resonates.
Personal Attributes
  • Bubbly team player: You bring energy, positivity, and a “can‑do” attitude to the team — people enjoy working with you.
  • Flexible and proactive: Fast‑paced environments don’t faze you; you adapt, anticipate, and get things done.
  • Passionate about brands and people: You care about the story the brand tells and the experience customers have.
  • Strategic yet hands‑on: You can think big picture but are equally happy rolling up your sleeves to make it happen.
