Marketing Assistant

Introduction

Do you love the idea of spending your working week surrounded by chocolate, gelato and all things delicious? We’re on the lookout for a Marketing Assistant with plenty of enthusiasm, a dash of creativity and a hunger to learn. You’ll help whip up social media content, support product launches, assist with filming days in our development kitchen and keep our website looking fresh and fabulous! No two days are the same here at Henley Bridge - you’ll get hands‑on experience across the whole marketing mix, from content creation and website updates to events, photoshoots and campaign support. It’s a truly varied role where you’ll learn heaps along the way.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Marketing Lead, you will support the day‑to‑day operations of the Marketing Department, helping to create tasty, engaging and inspirational content and campaigns that celebrate Henley Bridge’s products, suppliers and customers. This hands‑on, varied role is ideal for someone with a passion for food, creativity and marketing. You will be exposed to the entire marketing mix and gain experience across all channels and disciplines. Whether you're just starting out or already have some solid experience under your belt, this role has room for you to grow.

Principal Functions / Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns across all marketing channels.
  • Create, edit and prepare content for various marketing platforms, including social media, emails, newsletters, blogs, recipes and website updates.
  • Write, create and schedule social content. Engage with and reply to customers on across our social media networks.
  • Assist with the development and design briefing of marketing collateral (brochures, flyers, product sheets, sales tools etc.).
  • Support the planning and creation of marketing launches and campaigns.
  • Assist with events, photoshoots, demos and promotions where necessary. (This may involve some occasional travelling).
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, including social media engagement and email performance.
  • Provide administrative support to the marketing team, including maintaining marketing calendars, organising assets and updating internal documents.
  • Implement, update and maintain our image portal (Dash), ensuring assets are organised, tagged and always up to date.
  • Assist with management of the website, including uploading content, refreshing banners, updating landing pages, writing website copy and checking for accuracy.
  • Liaise with suppliers, printers or agencies where required (e.g., requesting quotes, gathering assets).
  • Support new product launches, helping gather information, create product pages and assist with marketing materials.
  • Proofreading marketing assets and collateral. Ensuring tone of voice and branding is accurate.
  • Assisting with in‑house filming for social media, working closely with our Development Chefs.
  • Embracing new technologies and AI solutions.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Carry out competitor analysis or market research as directed on an ad‑hoc basis.
  • Sourcing props and backgrounds for photoshoots.
  • Henley Bridge reserves the right to vary or amend duties and responsibilities in line with business needs.
Skills / Experience
Essential

  • Comfortable working on several tasty projects at once – no day is ever the same!

  • A good understanding of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook) and how businesses use them.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Desirable
  • Experience with Canva or similar design tools.
  • Experience using a CMS or e‑commerce platform – bonus if you’re familiar with HubSpot!
  • Some familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, social insights etc.).
  • A passion for food, creativity and content creation.

Working Hours and Location
  • Monday–Friday, 8:45am – 4:45pm, with flexibility required as and when needed to support business activity.
  • Once a 6‑month probation period in the office has been passed, we operate a hybrid working policy. This consists of 2 days working from home and 3 days working from the office in Lewes, East Sussex.
  • Henley Bridge, Cocoa House, Lewes, East Sussex, BN8 6JL (and other locations as required).
