Job description

Working alongside the Head of Marketing, the Marketing Assistant will provide day-to-day support for marketing and communications across Lancing College and the wider Lancing family of schools. This role will have a strong focus on digital marketing, assisting with social media, website content, and general marketing administration. It is open as a postgrad opportunity or for those with some experience.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Digital Marketing

  • To support the planning and scheduling of social media posts across multiple platforms.
  • To assist in creating engaging content (copy, photos, video) for social media and digital channels.
  • To help monitor engagement and report on performance metrics using tools such as Meta Insights and Google Analytics.
  • To upload and update website content using the school’s CMS, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • To support the delivery of email marketing campaigns and maintain distribution lists.
  • To update online directories and listings as required.

Marketing Support

  • To assist with day-to-day marketing administration including maintaining photo libraries, updating documents, and supporting the wider team.
  • To help coordinate photography and video shoots, attending school events where needed to capture content.
  • To liaise with internal teams to gather stories and news for publication in the school magazine or on digital platforms.
  • To gather and collate press clippings and mentions of the College and wider family of schools.
  • To support the production of marketing materials, including proofing, formatting and liaising with suppliers.
  • To prepare marketing materials for events.
  • To prepare and fulfil mailings.
  • To contribute to maintaining brand consistency across all marketing materials and communications.
  • To monitor and maintain merchandise supplies to ensure we have enough for trade fairs.
Skills and Experience
  • Educated to A Level or equivalent.
  • An interest in digital media, communications or marketing with an enthusiasm for content creation.
  • Possess a basic understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing principles.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Proactive and keen to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess a marketing qualification, or relevant marketing experience.
  • Experience in marketing, communications or social media work placement or similar.
  • Ability to use Adobe and Canva.
  • Familiar with tools such as Meta, Mailchimp, Wordpress CMS.
