Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join North Yorkshire Council’s destination management and marketing organisation, Visit North Yorkshire. Created in 2023 following the merging of seven district and borough councils, this is the perfect time to join the Tourism service and support our objective to showcase North Yorkshire as a must-visit destination and increase the value of the county’s visitor economy.

We are recruiting a Marketing Assistant to join our Destination Marketing Team. This hybrid role is based in Harrogate, Northallerton, or Richmond, with flexibility to work remotely. You’ll support the Destination Campaign Manager in delivering thematic, seasonal, and place-based campaigns focused on the western region of North Yorkshire, including Harrogate, Skipton, Ripon, the Yorkshire Dales, Nidderdale National Landscape, Richmond, and Selby.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creating engaging content for websites and social media that highlights North Yorkshire’s unique appeal.
  • Attending and supporting events (sometimes outside normal hours) to represent Visit North Yorkshire.
  • Coordinating influencer activity, photo/video shoots, and digital content across platforms like CrowdRiff.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure campaign success.
