The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Matthew Algie for a skilled and passionate marketing assistant to join our team. The selected candidate will work closely with the Head of Marketing and wider marketing team to coordinate and deliver marketing campaigns, create engaging content, and maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints. This includes supporting digital marketing, social media, events, customer communications, and promotional materials. The role also involves liaising with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery of marketing projects, while actively contributing ideas to improve campaign effectiveness and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the marketing team in planning and delivering the annual event calendar for Matthew Algie and Espresso Warehouse, ensuring all events run smoothly and reflect the brand.
  • Coordinate corporate events, presentations, and photo shoots, including briefing, event planning, task tracking, and communication across teams.
  • Support logistics, including product ordering, collation, and post‑event restocking.
  • Maintain event documentation, including MMCRF submissions, purchase orders, event forms, and event kit tracking.
  • Assist with lead, conversion, and sales reporting following events.
  • Provide secondary support for sales‑led events as required.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date, GDPR‑compliant, and segmented customer databases for Espresso Warehouse catalogues and other marketing communications.
  • Manage the distribution process from quotes through POs to completion, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Track returns and database corrections, preventing repeated errors and keeping sales informed.
  • Produce and share monthly marketing updates with the wider team.
  • Support data management, including annual database refreshes, marketing stock usage reporting, and product code requests.
  • Assist the Head of Marketing with purchase orders, budget monitoring, and general administrative tasks.
  • Work with the Purchasing team and Marketing Manager to manage samples and promotional product orders.
  • Contribute ideas and support to marketing initiatives across the business as needed.
Experience
  • Some experience in marketing, preferably within hospitality, coffee, or FMCG, or a related customer‑focused environment.
  • Familiarity with marketing campaigns, events, promotions, and basic brand management principles.
  • Experience with customer databases, POS materials, and administrative support is desirable.
Skills / Knowledge

Qualifications
  • A marketing, business, or communications qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Interest in coffee, hospitality, or FMCG is advantageous.
