Marketing & Communications Officer

Doocey Group is a family‑run utility and civil engineering contractor with over 40 years experience built on strong, Black Country values. We’ve experienced significant growth over the past 10 years which we’ve achieved through consistently delivering high quality work on behalf of our clients, including Grid and South Staffordshire Water.

We pride ourselves on the strength of our relationship with our clients and subcontractors and despite operating in a very fast‑paced and often challenging industry, we will soon register a turnover of 100m, a significant milestone for the organisation. As a Marketing & Communications Officer, you’ll help shape how our organisation is seen and heard. From crafting compelling campaigns via multi‑media channels, you’ll use your creativity and attention to detail to bring our brand to life.

  • Collate and publish case studies and news stories across social media platforms and the Group website.
  • Liaise with Directors to support the development and execution of marketing and communications strategies.
  • Provide regular progress reports and performance updates to the Directors.
  • Collaborate with brand, design, SEO and digital marketing partners to ensure cohesive and effective campaigns.
  • Monitor and evaluate public perception of Doocey Groups brand and reputation, providing insights and recommendations as required.
  • Ensure all communications align with organisational goals, brand strategy and target audience objectives.
  • Conduct market research and analyse audience insights to inform marketing and communication activities.
  • Support the creation of consistent and high‑quality presentations and point‑of‑sale materials.
  • Assist with the preparation of tenders, award submissions and related promotional content.
  • Provide Business Development and Talent Acquisition team with relevant marketing materials.
  • Coordinate the design, production and distribution of in‑house branded items such as gifts, stationary and promotional merchandise.

  • Creative thinker with strong attention to detail and a passion for developing engaging content.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and messaging for different audiences.

  • Strong sense of brand awareness and commitment to maintaining a consistent and positive company image.
Qualifications & Training
  • 1-2 years experience in a marketing, communications, or similar role ideally within a multi‑disciplinary or fast‑paced business environment.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles, including social media engagement, SEO and content strategy.
  • Working knowledge of website content management systems such as WordPress or equivalent.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Word for producing presentations and branded materials.
  • GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade 4-9 or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving license.
