Job summary

Goldman Sachs Bank AG is seeking a Risk - Software Engineer/Analyst for the Birmingham location. The role focuses on Market Risk analytics, delivering metrics and insights to support risk decisions.

You will build robust data workflows, work with Python/SQL ETL, and develop BI solutions using Tableau, PowerBI, or Alteryx. 2-5 years in finance or consulting preferred; strong communication and teamwork essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as data science, mathematics, econometrics, or engineering.
• Entrepreneurial, analytically creative, self-motivated and team-oriented.
• Excellent written, verbal and team-oriented communication skills.
• Working knowledge of the financial industry, markets and products and associated non-financial risk.
• Working knowledge of mathematics including statistics, time series analysis and numerical algorithms.
• Experience with Python and SQL for ETL and data analysis (performance optimization).
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI.

Responsibilities

• Deliver regular and reliable risk metrics, analytics and insights for market risk.
• Build robust, systematic workflows and processes around risk analytics and regulatory reporting.
• Attest to data quality and completeness of underlying data used in analytics.
