Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience in a market risk role within commodity trading, ideally gas & power.
  • Strong knowledge of VaR, stress-testing and scenario analysis.
  • Good knowledge of derivatives and options.
  • Strong MS Office skills including Excel and VBA; SQL and Python are advantages.
  • Knowledge of the Endur ETRM system is an advantage.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Clear communication with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Fluent English.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review daily P&L and risk reports, monitor limits and resolve issues with relevant teams.
  • Support front office in obtaining approval for new and non-standard products.
  • Identify significant risks and ensure transparency to senior management.
  • Provide information and commentary for bi-weekly Risk Committee meetings.
  • Review and approve relevant changes to the ETRM system (Endur).
  • Ensure compliance with trading procedures and assist audits.
  • Contribute to reporting enhancements and development of reporting systems.

Market Risk Analyst (Analytics)

Location: London, UK

Contract type: Permanent

Language requirements: Fluent level of English

At Eni, we are looking for a Market Risk Analyst (Analytics) to join Eni Trade & Biofuels (ETB) in London, UK. You will be responsible for the daily analysis of the trading activities (PnL and position reporting) of the gas desk, as well as providing ad hoc support to other desks as required, notably Crude Oil Derivatives, LNG, and Power & Emissions. The role is within the analytics team which constantly strives to improve risk procedures through automation, therefore a significant aspect of the role would be to contribute to the development of software to streamline daily processes and assist front office with system trading, using a variety of techniques including machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Main responsibilities:
  • Preparing and reviewing daily P&L and risk reports, monitoring limits, and proactively resolving any issues in coordination with the relevant teams.
  • Support front office in obtaining approval for new and non-standard products.
  • Assisting in identifying significant risks within the business and ensuring they are transparent to senior management.
  • Provide information and commentary for the bi-weekly Risk Committee meetings.
  • Review and approve any relevant changes to the main ETRM system (Endur).
  • Guarantee compliance for trading procedures with relevant controls and support when necessary internal and external audit requests.
  • Participate in the enhancement of reporting and the development of reporting systems.
Skills and experience required:
  • University degree in a numerate discipline (e.g. economics, mathematics, pure science, finance, engineering or similar).
  • Relevant experience in a market risk role within commodity trading companies, ideally with a focus on gas & power.
  • Strong knowledge of risk metrics such as VaR, stress-testing, scenario analysis.
  • Good knowledge of derivatives and options.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite including Excel and VBA. SQL and Python would be a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of the Endur ETRM system would be an advantage.
  • Strong organization skills with good attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, able to communicate concisely with senior management in the market risk function and with all stakeholders.
  • Fluent level of English.
