Job summary

Siemens Energy Lincoln facility seeks a Mark Out Fitter to support the Parts - Static unit. You will hand‑on mark out, fit, and assemble static gas turbine components, using precision tools and calibrated equipment to meet strict tolerances and safety standards.

The role focuses on interpreting drawings, drilling, riveting, and assembling sub-assemblies while adhering to GMP and lean manufacturing principles. This is a full‑time position at the Lincoln site.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized mechanical engineering apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Extensive, demonstrable experience in a precision mechanical fitting or assembly role.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Interpret complex engineering drawings, work orders, and specifications to accurately mark out and fit components for static gas turbine parts.
• Perform skilled fitting operations including drilling, riveting, and using hand, power, and pneumatic tools to assemble components to precise standards.
• Set up and operate machinery and equipment required for the assembly process with correct tooling and configuration.
• Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to defined procedures, ensuring integrity and functionality of the final product.
• Conduct in-process and final quality control checks using precision measuring instruments to ensure part tolerances are met.
• Identify and troubleshoot non-routine assembly issues, applying advanced operational knowledge to resolve problems.

This role is a replacement to ensure business continuity within the ‘Parts - Static’ manufacturing unit at the Lincoln Operations facility. As a Specialist Para-Professional, you will play a crucial role in the hands‑on assembly of static components for small gas turbines, directly supporting established production schedules and quality standards. Your focus will be on two core areas: Precision Assembly & Fitting, which involves skilled hands‑on work of marking, fitting, and assembling components, and Quality Control & Operational Excellence, ensuring all work adheres to strict technical specifications, safety protocols, and continuous improvement principles. Given the emphasis on high‑integrity manufacturing, your extensive experience in mechanical fitting, ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, and proficiency with precision measurement tools will be essential.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Maintain accurate daily production records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on processes and procedures.

What You Bring

• Completion of a recognized mechanical engineering apprenticeship (, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) is highly desirable.
