Job summary

MBDA in Bolton is seeking engineers for naval weapon systems installation and integration across shipyards and trial facilities. You will interface with MoD and industry partners and may travel abroad for extended periods as programmes arise.

The role requires flexibility, security clearance (BPSS), and the ability to operate across complex environments with offshore and on-site teams.

Qualifications

• Qualified to an HNC level or higher in an engineering or science discipline.
• Ideally experienced in installation on naval platforms including complex weapon system alignment, but training will be given.
• Good systems thinking/engineering approach.
• Willingness to learn and take on new methods/thinking.
• Keen to meet new people and engage with different stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously for periods.

Responsibilities

• Support maritime installation; interfacing with external stakeholders within the ship yard.
• Assist with Weapon System Alignment and Installation Inspection activities.
• Inspect and investigate issues on ship and raise quality notifications; manage installation tooling.
• Raise Task Instructions, Purchase Requisitions and concessions where applicable; manage documentation.
• Create and maintain Ship Constants Generator Tools; derive ship constants for maritime platforms.
• Production and maintenance of the installation documentation.
