Job summary

A leading defense technology firm in Portsmouth is seeking a Senior Combat Systems Engineer to enhance naval combat systems. You will lead testing and integration efforts while engaging with stakeholders and producing high-quality documentation. Ideal candidates have a strong maritime systems background, proven integration skills, and the ability to work with military and civilian teams. A degree in Engineering or Physics is essential, along with SC clearance eligibility. This role is critical to supporting the Royal Navy's operational objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience working with maritime combat systems and system-of-systems technologies.
• Proven track record in the integration, test, and evaluation of complex systems.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and support junior engineers on technical tasks.
• Experience producing technical artefacts in support of operational approval and assurance.
• Awareness of Test & Evaluation and/or system integration processes.
• Ability to work effectively within mixed military and civilian teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and provide technical direction to subordinate Combat System Engineers.
• Engage with customers and suppliers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop test strategies and plans, execute trials, and conduct post-trial analysis.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation.
• Deliver progress reports to senior technical and project stakeholders.
• Participate in and support sea trials on board Royal Navy ships.
