Job summary

Harrison Holgate is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join the Marine Hull team. The role focuses on assisting underwriters with day-to-day administration and processing of marine insurance business, providing essential support across underwriting operations.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to new business, renewals, policy amendments, and record-keeping while liaising with brokers and internal teams to ensure timely, accurate processing.

Qualifications

• Ideally, around one year of experience in an insurance-related role, or a familiarity with underwriting and insurance processes.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive approach, with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• An interest in developing a career within marine insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and technical support to the Marine Underwriting team.
• Assist with the processing of new business, renewals and policy amendments.
• Maintain accurate underwriting records and update internal systems.
• Liaise with brokers and internal teams to support the smooth handling of business.
• Ensure documentation is processed accurately and in a timely manner.
