Job description

Source Solutions are working with an established, reputable and growing engineering and environmental services business, in identifying an experienced engineer and team leader, to take a key role in their commercial department's growth, working as Marine Engineer Team Lead, the lynchpin between the engineers and senior management.

This is a new position born out of growth and as such, the position will grow and develop around the successful candidate as the department itself develops and grows. As such, the Marine Engineer Team Lead role requires someone who has a strong grasp of relevant ship-board mechanical and electrical (mostly LV) systems on board as well as experience of leading teams of engineers - this could be leading teams during:

• Maintenance periods
• Service on-board
• Repair works and overhauls
• Builds

This is a role where you will start mostly on project sites, overseeing the team and ensuring works are delivered, however once you are familiar with the team and the works, the role will develop in to a split between site and office, working with other leaders in the business whilst also carrying out managerial office tasks. As the Marine Engineer Team Lead for the department, you will also work directly with clients on site and at their offices.

Marine Engineer Team Lead profile:

• Strong knowledge of ship's systems - mech and elec (mostly LV)
• Leadership experience - experience leading a team of engineers
• Ability to deal with various personalities and adaptability to changing requirements
• Good communication skills and ability to deal with clients
