Job summary

Alicat Workboats Ltd. is seeking a skilled marine engineer to join our maintenance team at our facility. You will perform repairs, engine changes, gearbox swaps, and inspections on commercial vessels, with a focus on high-speed engines and reliable operation.

The role requires a full driving license, hands-on problem solving, and the ability to work with colleagues across the site. Experience with MTU, MAN, Volvo Penta, and CAT/Scania systems is preferred; NVQ/L3 Diploma in Engineering is

Qualifications

• Demonstrable previous experience in a marine engineer role.
• Previous experience working on high-speed engines.
• Ability to complete diagnostic checks and in-depth fault finding.
• Excellent team player and a proactive mentality.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Full, valid driving license.
• Experience with MTU and Volvo Cat Scania etc.
• Preferred L3 Diploma/NVQ Engineering or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a marine related role.

Responsibilities

• General vessel maintenance, inspection and repairs servicing of parts.
• Engine changes, potential engine rebuilding and testing (Engine types include: (MTU, MAN and Volvo Penta CAT Scania ))
• Gearbox changes (including Twindisc and Servogear).
• Be familiar with Prop Jet CPP IPS drive trains.
• Fault-finding and repairs of the vessel.
