Job summary

Proactive Global in Bristol is seeking a Marine Engineer to join a permanent team in a hybrid role (2-3 days on-site). The position focuses on maintenance, repair and inspection of marine machinery, with opportunities for progression for candidates from defence or service backgrounds.

The successful candidate will maintain and repair mechanical and electrical marine equipment, diagnose faults, review drawings and maintenance records, and ensure compliance with safety standards on various ships

Qualifications

• Marine, mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering experience.
• Knowledge of machinery maintenance and fault diagnosis.
• Experience using technical documentation and maintenance procedures.
• Relevant engineering qualifications or equivalent practical experience, depending on the level.
• Willingness to work at shipyards, dockyards or other engineering sites.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical and electrical marine equipment.
• Diagnose faults in engines, pumps, hydraulic systems and auxiliary machinery.
• Carry out inspections, testing and planned maintenance.
• Support installation, commissioning and modification of equipment.
• Review technical drawings, manuals and maintenance records.
• Ensure work complies with engineering procedures and safety standards.
• Work with other engineering disciplines to resolve equipment issues.

Job description
