Marine Engineer Position

Location: Portsmouth Dockyard, with occasional travel to Gosport Yards and other UK locations

Rate/Salary: £17.23 per hour

Type: Full-time, Permanent

The ideal candidate will be conscientious, motivated, and practical, with a professional appearance and the ability to work at sea for short periods. They should be flexible, willing to assist other trades as required, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide onsite engineering support to Police Launches and RIBs within Portsmouth Dockyard.
• Maintain and repair vessels to the highest standards, taking responsibility for quality of work.
• Assist with various tasks as required across different trades.
• Occasionally work at Gosport Yards or other UK sites on military vessels.
• Undertake overtime when necessary.
• Complete necessary DBS checks to gain Dockyard access.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
