Job summary

A leading marine service company is seeking a Marine Engineer in Southampton. You will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining marine equipment while ensuring solutions are provided effectively to clients. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in the marine industry, strong knowledge of engines, and an acceptable qualification in engineering. This is a permanent full-time role offering a salary between £35,000 and £45,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years' relevant experience working on equipment in the Marine industry.
  • Strong knowledge of engines, motors and gearboxes.
  • Able to work to Safety Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Working on Marine equipment at local customer sites.
  • Installing, repairing and maintaining motors and engines.

My client operates within the Marine industry. They are looking for an Engineer with strong hands‑on experience with maintenance and installation to join their team. This is a permanent role, based in Southampton.

Attributes
  • At least 3 years' relevant experience working on equipment in the Marine industry
  • A background in servicing, maintenance, repair, fault‑finding, fitting, installation, commissioning or similar
  • Strong knowledge of engines, motors and gearboxes
  • NVQ / HNC / HND / BTEC / Degree qualified or similar in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Able to work to Safety Standards
  • Customer focussed with excellent communication skills
  • Proactive and organised
  • Holds a full UK driving licence
Role Responsibilities
  • Working on Marine equipment at local customer sites
  • Installing, repairing and maintaining motors and engines
  • Working to given processes and procedures
  • Communicating with customers effectively to provide a quality service
  • Determining the reason of reported issues, fault‑finding and repair
  • Working accurately and efficiently
