Job summary

Bulk™ in Colchester, UK, seeks a Manufacturing Training Coordinator to ensure factory teams are trained with up-to-date SOPs and compliant practices. You will develop procedures, deliver training sessions, and track competency using the LMS to support continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates have hands-on manufacturing experience, familiarity with GMP/BRCGS, and the ability to create engaging training materials while coaching staff to perform tasks safely.

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).

Responsibilities

• Spot operational gaps and create clear SOPs to fix them.
• Write and update procedures to meet GMP/BRCGS standards.
• Plan, create, run training sessions via LMS, presentations and practical methods.
• Coach teammates on SOPs and test for competency.
• Identify gaps and coordinate refresher training with Shift Team Leaders.
• Maintain training matrix and log all completed training.
• Use LMS to track completion, trends, and report progress weekly to management.
• Provide training compliance proof to internal and external auditors.
• Support Learning & Development to align training with business goals and assist CI tasks.
• Investigate NCRs, deliver corrective training and update SOPs accordingly.
• Lead safety inductions and promote near-miss reporting to improve safety culture.

IN A NUTSHELL

The Manufacturing Training Coordinator makes sure our factory team has the exact skills and instructions needed to build quality products safely and efficiently.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

Procedure Development & Process Improvement

• Spot operational gaps: Identify inefficient or inconsistent factory tasks and create clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to fix them.
• Maintain/Improve quality standards: Write and update operational procedures so the plant consistently meets official industry standards (GMP / BRCGS).

Training Delivery & Skill Building

• Lead training sessions: Plan, Create, organize, and run training sessions and briefings for Manufacturing Team mates using a mix of our Learning Management System (LMS) alongside Presentations and practical training methods.
• Coach teammates: Teach Manufacturing teammates how to execute SOPs correctly and safely using various methods to suit various learning styles, and test for competency to ensure understanding of training
• Bridge skill gaps: Spot where Team mates need extra training and liaise with Shift Team Leaders to assign time to provide refresher training.

Record Keeping, Compliance Tracking & Data Analysis

• Maintain/Improve an up to date training matrix showing which team members are certified and signed off on specific tasks and machines.
• Log all completed training for every Manufacturing Team mate to ensure total compliance.
• Use our Learning Management System (LMS) to track completion rates, notice trends, and share progress reports with management on a weekly basis.

Teamwork & Audit Support

• Audit Support: Provide clear proof of training compliance to internal and external auditors.
• Suggest and source external training: Help research relevant outside training programs or certifications for Team mates growth.
• Align with company goals: Work with the Learning & Development team so Manufacturing training matches broader business goals.
• General support: Help the Assistant Manufacturing Manager with ad-hoc continuous improvement tasks / projects.

Quality Control & NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports)

• Investigate Quality Issues: Review error reports (NCRs) to figure out if Manufacturing mistakes were caused by a gap in knowledge or unclear instructions.
• Deliver Corrective Training: Quickly create and run refresher training sessions to fix the root cause of Manufacturing errors and prevent them from happening again.
• Update Procedures: Work with the Technical team to rewrite standard operating procedures (SOPs) whenever an NCR shows that the current rules aren't working.

Health & Safety

• Champion Workplace Safety: Ensure every factory teammate completes mandatory Health & Safety training, such as safe machine operation, proper lifting techniques, and correct use of safety protection/equipment (PPE).
• Support Risk Assessments: Work closely with the Assistant Manufacturing Manager to ensure any new safety risks or updated factory rules are instantly turned into active training for the team.
• Promote an existing "Near Miss" Culture: Train and encourage all Manufacturing Team mates to actively spot and report "near misses" (potential safety hazards) so risks can be fixed before an accident happens, whilst also reporting any near misses seen within the business.
• Lead Safety Inductions: Run clear and engaging safety briefings for all temps / new hires so they understand the factory's safety rules from day one.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Hard Skills / Experience / Qualifications

• Manufacturing Background: You have hands-on experience in the Manufacturing industry (preferably food or a similar fast-paced environment) and understand industry safety standards, specifically GMP/ BRCGS.
• Training Software (LMS) Skills: You know how to use digital training systems to assign courses, track teammate progress, and run reports.
• Creating Training Materials: You can easily build clear, interactive, and engaging training content using various training styles and design tools.
• Strong Computer Skills: You are highly confident using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, and Slides).

Soft Skills / Personality Traits

• Organisation and time management: You pay close attention to detail, know how to prioritize your workload, and can reliably hit tight deadlines.
• Proactive Problem-Solver: Actively look for operational gaps and take the initiative to fix them.
• Adaptable & Ambitious: You learn quickly, handle change well, and are always looking for ways to improve factory standards and grow in your role.

Nice-to-haves

• Root Cause Analysis: You know how to investigate why a mistake or issue happened on the Manufacturing floor and turn those learnings into targeted retraining for the team.
• Formal Training Certification: You hold a "Train the Trainer" certificate or a similar professional coaching qualification.
• Audit Experience: You have previously helped a factory team prepare for or navigate official quality and safety audits (like GMP, BRCGS or retailer audits).
