Manufacturing Technician

Salary: £25,800 – £26,800 per year (depending on experience)

Location: Eye, Suffolk (transport required)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

A well-established manufacturing company is looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Technician to join their busy production team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, using tools, and producing high-quality components in a modern workshop environment.

The role focuses on trimming, shaping, and finishing. You’ll be working with a range of hand tools and air tools, following engineering drawings, and supporting the smooth running of the production line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trim, cut, and shape components using hand tools and air tools.
  • Work from engineering drawings to ensure accurate measurements and high-quality finishes.
  • Prepare parts for paint/gel coat, ensuring surfaces meet required standards.
  • Carry out general workshop and production duties as required.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and a safe working environment at all times.
  • Wrap and protect finished products for dispatch (advantageous).
  • Work as part of a fast-moving team to meet deadlines.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in a manufacturing, workshop, or hands-on production environment (ideal but not essential).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Confident using hand tools (e.g., saws, sanders, files) and air tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and reliable work ethic.
  • Previous GRP trimming/finishing experience is an advantage but full training can be provided.
