Job summary

Teledyne Microwave UK in Lincoln is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join a skilled team. You will assemble and test RF and electronic products, ensuring high quality and reliability for specialist radar applications.

The role emphasizes documentation, fault finding, and supporting improvements in manufacturability and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in electronic/electromechanical assembly, good dexterity, and the ability to read technical drawings and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assembly & Test - assemble and test RF and electronic products using mechanical assembly, epoxy processes, PCB soldering, and RF assembly following build docs.
  • Production Data & Documentation - complete production records, build docs, and test results; update docs as needed.
  • Fault Finding & Repair - assist fault finding and repair for production issues and returns; feed issues to Engineering.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance - follow HSE requirements, including ESD controls and COSHH.
  • Delivery & Performance - meet/exceed production targets while maintaining quality; support flexible working as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement - contribute to 5S, visual mgmt, and process improvements; share ideas with team.

What you\'ll be involved in

Teledyne Microwave UK (Lincoln) is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our team based at Firth Road.

This is a hands‑on role working within a highly skilled and experienced team, assembling and testing technically advanced RF and electronic products used in specialist microwave radar applications.

The role involves the manufacture, test, and repair of high‑reliability products, alongside supporting continuous improvement activities to enhance product quality, manufacturability, and production efficiency. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high‑quality output while contributing ideas and improvements to the wider team.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Assembly & Test - assemble and test RF and electronic products using a range of techniques, including mechanical assembly, epoxy processes, PCB soldering, and RF assembly, in line with defined build documentation. Follow detailed work instructions and test procedures to ensure consistent product quality.

  • Production Data & Documentation - accurately complete production records, build documentation, and test results. Raise issues and support updates to documentation to ensure it remains current and reflects best practice

  • Fault Finding & Repair - support fault finding and repair activities for production issues and customer returns within agreed timescales. Work with Engineering teams to feedback recurring issues and support long‑term improvements.

  • Health, Safety & Compliance - work in line with all Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements, including ESD controls and COSHH regulations. Actively support and promote a safe and compliant working environment.

  • Delivery & Performance - work to meet or exceed agreed production targets while maintaining high quality standards. Support business needs through flexible working where required.

  • Continuous Improvement - contribute to continuous improvement activities, including 5S, visual management, and process improvements. Proactively identify opportunities to improve product quality, build efficiency, and working practices, and share ideas with the team.

What we\'re looking for in you

Essential Experience / Competencies:

  • Experience in electronic or electromechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.

  • Good manual dexterity and high attention to detail.

  • Experience using hand tools and soldering techniques, with an understanding of ESD requirements.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, build instructions, and test procedures.

  • Experience working to production targets in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Strong team player with a proactive and positive approach.

  • Ability to manage own work and maintain accurate records.

  • High level of dexterity and attention to detail; using hand tools, soldering, and demonstrating ESD compliance.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical data.

  • Accurately manage own material inventory.

  • Availability to work extra hours or shift work as required to meet customer demand.

Desirable Experience / Competencies:

  • Experience working with RF or microwave assemblies.

  • Understanding of electronic test methods and equipment.

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools (e.g. 5S, visual management, waste reduction).

  • Experience using Microsoft Office for data entry and reporting.

  • Experience supporting improvement activities within a production environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification in Electronic Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
