Job summary

A staffing agency is seeking a Manufacturing Technician II for the Protein Diagnostics Division in Birmingham. In this laboratory-based role, you will support the production of diagnostic products, ensuring quality and workflow. Candidates must have at least 1 year of lab experience or relevant scientific degree, and demonstrate strong organizational and troubleshooting skills. The position offers a pay rate of £13.81 per hour with a Monday to Friday schedule.

Qualifications

  • Previous lab experience is essential.
  • Experience planning or managing workload is an advantage.

Manufacturing Technician II – Protein Diagnostics Division

Location: Birmingham

Shift Pattern: Monday‑Friday, 08:00‑16:30

Pay Rate: £13.81 per hour

During this onsite role you will support the manufacturing of world‑leading diagnostic products. You will be part of a dedicated operations team, ensuring product quality, equipment readiness, and smooth workflow execution.

Responsibilities
  • Work independently using a daily/weekly plan.
  • Manage materials and inventory needed for production.
  • Carry out scheduled tasks on equipment or assigned areas.
  • Perform basic data checks and process checks.
Qualifications & Qualifications
  • A proactive person who completes work accurately the first time.
  • Someone who can troubleshoot issues and suggest improvements.
  • Good at organizing work, meeting deadlines, and following SOPs.
  • Comfortable using computers, especially Excel.
Required Experience & Education
  • GCSE level (or equivalent) and at least 1 year of lab experience, or a relevant scientific degree.
  • Previous lab experience is essential.
  • Experience planning or managing workload is an advantage.
Work Environment
  • Laboratory-based role with PPE provided.
  • Handling chemicals and lifting up to 20 kg may be required.
  • Occasional short‑notice overtime, including weekends.
