Job summary

Sammons Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Manufacturing Team Leader in Hastings, East Sussex, on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. The role involves hands-on leadership to ensure safe, efficient production that meets quality standards, with alternating shift patterns to support operations.

You will motivate and mentor the team, coordinate workloads, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining compliance with health and safety procedures. Salary is £16 per hour.

• Ensure products are manufactured in line with specifications and required standards.
• Identify and resolve production issues, escalating concerns where necessary.
• Promote a safe working environment and ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
• Monitor productivity and identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes.
• Support the training and development of team members, sharing knowledge and best practice.
• Ensure equipment, tools and work areas are kept clean, organised and well maintained.
• Communicate effectively with management and other departments to support production requirements.
• Maintain accurate production records and report on progress, issues and performance.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Experience in a team leader, supervisory or senior operative role, or demonstrable leadership ability
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good communication skills and the ability to motivate and support colleagues
• A proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement
• A strong commitment to health and safety
• Flexibility and willingness to work alternating shift patterns
