Job summary

First Military Recruitment are seeking a Manufacturing Team Leader Assistant in Cardiff to help ensure orders are produced on time and to high standards while following health and safety policies.

You will support the Team Leader with KPI reporting, daily manufacturing tasks, and cover production stations as needed. Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm, with travel and overnight stays when trained.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• HGV C&E licence is beneficial.
• Previous manufacturing knowledge and experience required.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and SAP.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Proactive attitude to continuous improvement.
• Experience with Return to Work processes and investigations is a plus.
• Prior leadership experience is advantageous.
• FLT licence preferable but not essential.
• Must be flexible regarding working hours.
• Ability to work well in a team and support the Team Leader.
• Ability to step into Team Leader role when needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure manufacturing quality meets high standards and deadlines.
• Complete and maintain relevant quality paperwork.
• Drive output and efficiency through the team.
• Support cultural change and continuous improvement.
• Minimise labour costs while meeting manufacturing needs.
• Utilise manpower effectively across the business.
• Ensure operator training is completed and signed off.
• Identify opportunities to reduce scrap levels.
• Generate and implement improvement initiatives.
• Keep work areas clean and safe.
