Manufacturing Plant Manager – Rushden

Rushden, Northamptonshire, NN10. Salary: Competitive + benefits and Car allowance. Full-time, Permanent role. Working Monday to Friday 8am – 4:30pm. Commutable from Kettering, Northampton, Wellingborough.

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manufacturing Plant Manager to lead a well‑established manufacturing site in Rushden, Northamptonshire. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader with a strong background in operations management, who thrives in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all site operations to ensure production, quality, safety, and financial targets are consistently achieved.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Manage site budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the site management team and wider workforce.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape and execute the site’s strategic plan.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage operational risks and resolve challenges effectively.
About You
  • Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Significant experience in senior operations roles, ideally within manufacturing or multi‑process environments.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, P&L accountability, and cost control.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of developing high‑performing teams.
  • In‑depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and quality systems.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and customer‑focused.
Additional Requirements
  • Daily on‑site presence is required.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
