Job summary

MBDA UK Ltd in Bolton is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Planning and Control Manager to lead a team and ensure the Manufacturing Planning Schedule (MPS) is delivered on time and within cost and quality targets. The role sits in the UK Manufacturing team supporting multi-project customer deliveries across NPI development and production.

You will develop the MPS in SAP, collaborate with supply chain and production teams, drive process improvements, and deliver the S&OP process.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification required.
• Experience in supply chain management within manufacturing.
• SAP or equivalent MRP system experience essential.
• APICS certification desirable.
• Ability to lead and develop a team.
• Strong decision-making and change management skills.
• Ability to influence and drive change.

Responsibilities

• Provide Leadership and support to the MP&C Team.
• Development of the MPS in line with agreed production schedule.
• Management of the MPS within SAP enabling production and material orders.
• Collaborate with supply chain manufacturing teams to ensure end-to-end planning.
• Contribute to the manufacturing supply chain strategy and planning cycle.
• Lead MP&C process improvements and KPI development.
• Develop tools, processes, and KPIs for the MP&C function.
• Support the S&OP process delivery and SAP functionality for MRP integrity.
• Own manufacturing planning processes and system improvements.
• Work with analysts to develop new system reports and processes.
• Support Manufacturing Operations for accurate customer commitments and on-time delivery.

Job description

This is an excellent opportunity to join the UK Manufacturing team at Bolton in support of multi project customer deliveries working in an area that covers NPI Development and production.

Salary: Circa £60,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 5 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

The opportunity:

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manufacturing Planning and Control Manager based at the MBDA UK site in Bolton. The MP&C Manager reports directly into the Head of Operations and is responsible for leading a Manufacturing Planning and Control team within a business unit.

Responsible for ensuring the MP&C team are capable and efficient in all planning related activities to deliver the Manufacturing Planning Schedule (MPS) to time, cost and quality.

With the following main specific responsibilities:

• Provide Leadership and support to the MP&C Team.
• Development of the MPS in line with agreed production schedule.
• Management of the MPS within SAP enabling production and material orders.
• Work collaboratively with the supply chain manufacturing teams to ensure consistent end to end planning and validation of material supply plans.
• Contribute to the creation and delivery of the manufacturing supply chain strategy end to end planning cycle.
• Act as technical and cultural lead for MP&C focusing on process improvement and performance of the manufacturing supply chain.
• Champion the development of new tools, processes, skills and KPIs for the MP&C function.
• Provide inputs and facilitation to ensure the effective delivery of the S&OP process.
• Development and support of SAP functionality ensuring MRP integrity and the automation of performance reporting from SAP data.
• Take ownership of manufacturing planning processes and system improvements ensuring MRP operating principles and rules are adhered to.
• Work with system analysts and SMEs to develop new system reports and processes that lead to simplification and enhanced business planning.
• Supports the Manufacturing Operations teams to ensure accurate customer commitments, OTD and consistent end to end planning.

What we're looking for from you:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Supply Chain Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• APICs supply chain certification desirable but not essential to the role.
• Experience in the use of SAP or equivalent MRP system essential.
• Ability to make decisions and direct a team to achieve organisation goals.
• Previous experience of managing a team.
• Ability to influence and drive change
