We are working with a pioneering team dedicated to creating sustainable biomaterials. Based in Cambridge, UK, they are at the forefront of innovation in biomaterials, aiming to revolutionize the materials industry with eco-friendly alternatives.

They are looking for a Manufacturing Operator/Technician who thrives on maintaining research equipment and production facilities to world-class standards and has an interest in sustainability and the bio-based materials sector. You will conduct complex mixing and roll-to-roll pilot manufacturing runs, monitor and record process data. This role offers the opportunity to take on challenging tasks and support the development of innovative manufacturing methodologies. This is a key role in the facilities team and is vital for the client’s ability to deliver products to their customers on time and to an acceptable quality standard and will have a significant impact on the future success of the facilities team.

About the role:

  • Conduct pilot-scale mixing trials in accordance with process instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Carry out roll-to-roll pilot manufacturing trials following process instructions and SOPs.
  • Manage raw materials and chemical stocks for each trial.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure successful manufacturing trials.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all trials and processes.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and suggest improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and safety standards.

About the candidate:

  • Strong ability to follow manufacturing processes and accurately record data.
  • A strong focus on health and safety, with the ability to adhere to safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team and to tight deadlines.
  • Eagerness to evolve in a fast-changing environment.
  • Experience in pilot-scale or small-volume manufacturing.
  • Experience with pilot trial documentation or R&D workflows.
  • Experience in textiles, coatings, adhesives, or resin systems.
  • Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
  • Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
