Job description

Press Operator - Print Manufacture – Norwich (initially on a 12‑week term, subject to review). The role is on a set shift pattern: 38 hours a week – Monday‑Thursday 15:30‑22:45 and 12:00‑17:45 on Friday. Competitive hourly pay (weekly), rate based around experience.

Technique Recruitment Solutions is working alongside a global print machinery manufacturer based in Norwich. They have a new opportunity for Level 3 Press Operators/Packers to join their team supporting the No1 and No2 Press Operator to ensure customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will provide support that will enable the team to achieve production requirements and ensure quality control testing is completed efficiently, highlighting potential issues that may cause waste.

Applicants will have a good understanding of production procedures within a manufacturing environment and functional knowledge and experience with packing and manual handling as well as completing paperwork and maintaining a clean, safe and neat work environment. Previous experience within a print environment and/or forklift experience is advantageous but not essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained.
  • Pack labels into cartons as per company specification.
  • Complete quality control checks.
  • Mount/demount plates in line with production schedule.
  • Help with label dispatch as required and trained.
  • Step up to No2 role as required in line with personal skills.
Requirements
  • Ensure labels are packed and presented in proper condition for shipping.
  • Accurately label individual roll cores and cartons to ensure traceability of labels has been maintained.
  • Complete end‑of‑manufacture quality control checks to verify good product has been manufactured.
  • Maintain working environment to demonstrated standards.
  • Desire to learn new skills and progress, participate and engage in departmental continuous improvement initiatives.
