Job summary

Clayton Glass in Huthwaite, United Kingdom, is seeking a Manufacturing Operative to join our on-site production team. You will support manufacturing targets, ensure quality, and maintain a safe, efficient workplace within a back-to-back rotating shift pattern.

This permanent, full-time role offers a 37.5 hour week across two rotating shifts, with probation and an hourly rate of £12.71. Benefits include generous leave, pension, health plan, Perkbox, and free on-site parking.

Responsibilities

• Operating Machinery: Operate machinery used for cutting, shaping, and processing glass, following all safety and operational guidance.
• Handling and Processing Glass: Safely load and unload glass components, taking care to avoid damage.
• Quality Control: Check finished products for cracks, chips, or imperfections and report concerns promptly.
• Assembly and Packaging: Assist in assembling glass units (e.g., double glazing) and prepare them for transportation or onward production.
• Safety and Maintenance: Comply with health and safety regulations, complete basic equipment checks, and report faults.
• Material Handling: Move and organise raw materials to support continuous production flow.
• General Production Support: Maintain cleanliness, meet production targets, and support various team tasks.

Desirable (Non Essential)

• Previous experience in manufacturing or factory environments.
