Job summary

Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a leading manufacturing company based on the Wirral to recruit an experienced Inventory & Cost Accountant. Reporting to the Site Controller, the Inventory & Cost Accountant will have end-to-end responsibility for the accuracy, reconciliation and financial control of raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods inventory.

Qualifications

• Experience required: CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or qualified by experience.
• Strong background in manufacturing with extensive inventory, stock and cost accounting experience.
• ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end inventory reconciliation across ERP and financial records.
• Lead cycle counts and stock takes, investigate discrepancies and implement controls.
• Manage customer-owned inventory with accurate tracking, reconciliation, valuation and reporting.
• Monitor material movements from receipt through production, consumption, conversion, sale, return and replacement.
• Analyze material consumption, production yields and inventory variances with Operations for root-cause actions.
• Reconcile inventory, purchase and sales transactions with customer commitments, invoicing and ledgers.
• Develop and maintain robust ERP reporting, reducing manual spreadsheets and ensuring a single data source.
• Support standard costs, BOMs, routings and inventory valuation processes.
• Establish and maintain inventory controls, segregation of duties and monthly close processes.
• Collaborate with Finance, Commercial, Procurement, Operations and IT to resolve issues and improve controls.
• Ensure discrepancies are resolved and support audits.
