About the Role
We're seeking an experienced HSE Manager to take a leading role in driving health, safety, and environmental excellence across a high-hazard manufacturing environment. Reporting to the UK EHS Manager, you'll be responsible for shaping strategy, ensuring compliance, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
This is an opportunity to join a global engineering and manufacturing business that produces critical materials for industries including aerospace, energy, and defence.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise and collaborate with senior managers to drive continual improvement in OHSE performance.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal manufacturing standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain SHE policies, procedures, and best practice.
- Lead compliance audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Monitor OHSE KPIs, prepare monthly reports, and present findings to senior leadership.
- Represent the organisation in communications with regulators and during audits.
- Champion cultural change by engaging employees at all levels in safety processes.
- Deliver training and coaching to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Stay up to date with emerging best practices in OHSE and integrate them into business strategy.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or a related field.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent post‑graduated H&S qualification).
- Chartered Membership of IOSH.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an HSE management role within a high‑hazard environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and auditing EH&S management systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage cultural change and process safety initiatives.
Key Competencies
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and compliance.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
- High level of self‑motivation with the ability to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Competent with MS Office and modern reporting systems.
