Job summary

Butler Rose is recruiting a Finance Director for a growing Somerset manufacturing business. You will lead strategic financial direction, partner with the MD, and drive profitability and operational performance across the organisation.

The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial modelling. A strong manufacturing background and proven leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Proven experience as a Finance Director or senior finance leader.
• Strong manufacturing experience (food/FMCG or similar).
• Experience partnering with senior leadership and influencing decisions.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate financials into business insight.
• Excellent budgeting, forecasting, modelling and cash flow skills.
• Experience with working capital, treasury and banking relationships.
• Proven track record leading and developing finance teams.
• Hands-on leader balanced with strategic delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Partner with MD and leadership to support strategic planning and growth initiatives.
• Provide financial leadership and commercial insight for decision-making.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning with visibility of performance.
• Deliver management information and reporting to support objectives.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital; identify risks and opportunities.
• Support investments via financial analysis and business cases.
• Collaborate with operations to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Maintain robust controls, governance and compliance.
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors and advisers.
• Lead and develop a small finance team in a high‑performing culture.
