Job Title: Engineering Manager

Location: Manchester
Salary: 60K-80KD.O.E+ 7% pension + Medical + Other Benefits

Shifts: Monday to Friday: 7:00am-4:00pm, plus Saturday mornings (7:30am-12:00pm).

Are you currently a Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Team Leader, looking for the next step in your career? Or an Engineering Manager looking for a fresh challenge.

We're working with a well-established, family-run manufacturer that's offering the chance for you to move into a leadership role with real support, autonomy, and the opportunity to make your mark.

This is a hands‑on position where you'll take charge of the site's maintenance activity, lead a small team, and help keep production running smoothly. You'll be joining a business that truly values its people and invests in developing them for the long term.

The Role

You'll take ownership of day-to-day maintenance and site engineering, making sure everything runs safely and efficiently. You'll plan work, support your team, and get stuck in when needed.

It's the ideal role for someone who's ready to step up – a practical, people‑focused leader who wants to take on more responsibility while still staying close to the tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee maintenance work, projects, and equipment installs.
  • Lead, support, and develop a small maintenance team.
  • Implement proactive maintenance plans to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
  • Make sure all work is carried out safely and to the right standards.
  • Build good relationships with contractors and suppliers.
  • Play a key role in continuous improvement and future site upgrades.
About You
  • Currently working as a Maintenance Supervisor, Team Leader, or experienced Engineer.
  • Qualified in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Background in FMCG manufacturing preferred (training available).
  • Positive, proactive approach with good people skills.
  • Keen to learn, develop, and take on more leadership responsibility.
