Overview
An exciting new opportunity has become available within the Manufacturing Engineering team for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join the team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day design, prove, implement and maintenance of Production Systems to deliver product on time, quality and cost. You will provide Engineering Leadership to a multi-disciplined team of Manufacturing, Process and Test Engineers alongside Industrial Validation of the internal and external supply chain. You will be responsible for leading a project through the manufacturing lifecycle and achieving the full validation of the manufacturing system.
Responsibilities
- Constantly investigating new approaches and techniques to manufacturing and their potential application within the specialised Defence sector of MBDA.
- Supporting the industrial validation process through the use of FMEA's, FAI's, and other methods
- Driving change in the business by implementing manufacturing improvements using automation, robots and the adoption of VR.
- Influencing the allocation of capital investment budgets and leading individual projects to ensure the facility remains at the forefront of manufacturing and competitive advantage is increased.
- Establishing and implementing strategy for creating continuous improvement and driving continuous improvement through the team to increase MBDA's market share.
- Leading a team of engineers, providing direction to develop and motivate people and ensuring successful team performance through leadership.
- Identifying requirements to ensure a successful transition from development to production, including transfer of CCA builds from Manufacturing Stevenage to Bolton.
- Supporting manufacturing architecture plans to operate lean principles and compiling business cases for process improvements and factory of the future concepts.
- Supporting and championing the Non-Conformance Process.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified or equivalent
- Experience with industrial validation of the internal and external supply chain in a manufacturing environment
- Able to influence and drive change
- Focus on continuous improvements
- People management skills
- Understanding of lean principles

- Salary: Circa £60,000 depending on experience
