About the role

This role is to lead a team of manufacturing engineers across both the manufacturing and assembly side of the business unit. You will play a critical role in ensuring the business unit is set up to deliver its ambitious 5-year plan targets.

What does this role involve day to day?
  • Capacity planning of all production areas to ensure build program is delivered consistently.
  • Creating and managing capital expenditure projects through to delivery.
  • Forecasting headcount for all production areas and driving productivity improvements to deliver LCPU.
  • Management of budgets to ensure the business unit delivers the profit forecast for the year.
  • Liaising and supporting overseas divisions that manufacture and assembly Loadall products that support the build program.
  • Ensure business unit readiness for all NPI launches and ensuring sign off is completed in timely manner that supports Gate timelines.

Development and management of KPI’s to measure departments performance and ensure risks are addressed swiftly.

This will be suited to you if
  • You have knowledge of relevant engineering and manufacturing standards and regulations.
  • You have knowledge of PFMEA to support NPI activities.
  • You have expertise in lean manufacturing techniques and their practical application.
  • You have experience in managing significant capex projects, from cradle to grave.
  • You have a proven track record of delivering cost savings through efficiency improvements.
  • You have a solid understanding of technology and engineering software.
  • You are enthusiastic, flexible, and proactive individual with strong inter-personal skills, capable of applying policies and processes to professional operational standards.
  • You have strong analytical, numerical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • You’re Innovative and creative, but able to work in a structured and methodical fashion and manage a varied workload.
  • You have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You have a HND/Degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • You have IOSH certification or equivalent.
  • You have a proven track record of successfully managing engineering teams and projects.
  • You’ve experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have proven experience in manufacturing engineering in a mechanical assembly environment, with a proven track record in a leadership and management role.
  • You have excellent stakeholder management abilities, both internally and externally.
